Trails & Tales of RIs

On 10 Septmeber, I went for a tour of research institutes (RI). It is under a program by science center called Trails and Tales of RIs. The meeting point was at science center. 16 people from my school get to go only but only 14 turn up. What a waste of space, those people are dammed assholes in my opinion. Selfish idiots, deprived people of a chance. Not only that, many Ah Lians also sign up, according to their behavior during the tour, they seem as interested in the RIs as I am in guys. Particular there was this girl who kept asking imbecilic questions. Idiotic, somebody should tell her to hold her tongue.
First RI we went was Institute of Materials Research and Engineering (IMRE). It was a really nice place and I learn about much stuff there. We saw electron microscopes, Fuel Cells, Microneedles, micro lenses and Organic light emitting diodes (OLEDS). What really interests me was the microneedles, which would really help diabetic patients who need insulin, jabs. Then we had lunch at IMRE and saw Weiling there. Chat a bit while waiting for Xiao Ting to reply, but she never turn up so I left without seeing her. The lunch provided was really crap; I only ate the bean curd, fried fish and rice just to keep myself going. Some people still had 2 shares; wonder if they had taste buds at all?
Next stop was Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology (IMCB). That was the most interesting RI for the day; saw many of my friends there too. Like Yvonne, James, Haebi, DC and Jason. Haha they were sure surprised to see me there. Saw zebra fishes and transgenic frogs. The most interesting thing was about stem cell talk by a researcher there. Really open my eyes to wonder and development of medical science. Maybe one day I will do research on stem cells and hopefully get rid of diseases in this world. Haha, and I will be the most famous man in the whole world. Most boring talk at IMCB was on X Ray Crystallography; really feel like sleeping during the presentation.
Next we went to the last location, Singapore Institute Of Manufacturing Technology (SIMTech). We had the best hospitality there; they serve us biscuits and drinks before we started the tour. But their building looks as if it would collapse any moment and they look more like a factory than a RI. There were many China researchers here and the Ah lians from my school were dammed rude. Somebody should seriously teach them some manners. When the researchers from China were explaining the power processing, they kept giggling due to his strange accent when speaking English. How rude, they are no different from animals in the wild, barbarians and beast like. I enjoyed the laser process there the most. We get to see laser cutting; very fast and efficient.
Overall the event was very interesting and we learn a lot from the trip. But it was a little spoilt by stupid people who had no interest in research work and still went there, take up space and ask stupid questions which make them look idiotic. Sorry idiotic was an understatement for them. It was clear that the researchers were annoyed by stupid questions raised but still politely answer them by explaining some obvious stuff. Maybe this is how we should deal with people who had smooth brains. Haha.
