Pass my practical lesson 2 in the morning today. After which I rush down to Bukit Gombak for my driving lesson. Today’s lesson was not too bad; initially I had some problems with my turning but after practicing a few rounds it was not too bad and well overall its an improvement.
Went swimming with Liang Ying in the afternoon and we swam 16 laps. Its so siok to move my limbs a bit and also enjoy the water.

More work to be done on Sunday, touching up on the paint and putting back the light covers. After all these were done, it was about 7 in the night.
Driving in the morning and I went for some of the test route and did a few parallel parking. Not much form today and my driving was quite bad especially my turns. After driving, I brought mum to the dentist to have a look at her crown which dropped out and the dentist told her to come back at 5 to fix it. Initially it was ok and quite strong but after eating something just now, the crown dropped out and now have to go back to the dentist again. Haiz what hard luck.

Today, together with 3 of my camp mates, Hafiz, Syahrul and Ramdan, I painted my house. I am super tired now and have just bathe after clearing up all the mess. There was paint stains to wipe, newspapers and plastic sheet all over the floor and brushes to wash. After clearing up the rubbish, we had to vacuum the floor and also mop it and move the furniture back to their places.
Painting the ceilings was very tiring on the neck as one had to keep looking up at where we want to paint. After painting all the ceilings and the walls, the touching part is the hardest as we had to paint all the corners and sides which are either near to the furniture or the walls.
At around 9, we managed to finish the hall and the 3 rooms and my friends left first and the rest of the touching up was done by my parents and I. At around 11, we started clearing up and only finished by around 12.
Tiring day today but at least I got a nicer looking house.
Today was pretty much spent on preparing my house for painting. First in the morning, after breakfast, dad and I went to buy paint. Actually I wanted to get it from the shop that gave me the catalogue but I am sort of irritated by the fact that many the colours I wanted were not available and they were so slow in looking for the paint I wanted. In the end, we went away and look around for another shop. We settled on getting from a shop near the bank and luckily it had every colour we wanted and we spend $375 there getting the paint and the brushes.
When we came back, there was more work to be done. First of all, we removed all the light covers, wash and clean them and replaced bulbs that are faulty. Next, we took down the curtains and kept them up, next we removed the holder too. Some of the screws are so rusty that I had a hard time unscrewing them. Next was holes in the wall that had to be patched and sand and lastly was masking taping all the electrical points. After all this was done, it was around 6 and we bathe and change before going to dinner.
Painting my house tomorrow. Pray that it will turn out well.
A real tiring day today, first of all I had driving lesson in the morning from 9 to 11. After which, I went for my bike lesson at 1300. Practice parallel parking today again and this time its better and I managed to do it without stopping much. Bike lesson was not too good, need to retake lesson 2 again. Problem is the figure 8 again as always from the last time I took the SAF 2B license.
After my lesson, I came home, bathe, wash my clothes and keep in the dry laundry and rest for a while before cooking some noodles for dinner. After dinner and resting for a while, I made my way to

Today I finally started on my parking practice. Did parallel parking and it was damm tiring to keep doing it and controlling the clutch. But I managed to do a few successful ones and knock down a few poles too. After that it was just driving around.
Finally continue on my Sex and the Supremacy of Christ book again. Managed 2 chapters today. Hope I can finish it by this week.
First bike lesson today, finally after talking about it for so long, I am finally one step closer to getting a civilian 2B license. Before the first practical, there is the orientation for 1 hour where we get to know the basics of a motorcycle and about the lesson for the whole 2B course. From 1230 to 1300 is a break for lunch before we start the practical at 1305. For people with experience, after going in circles to practice changing gears from 1 to 2 and back to 1 and stopping the bike for about 5 rounds, we proceed out to the circuit to go round and round to go to gears 3 and 4 and practice our stopping at high and low speed. For me its quite ok since I had a SAF 2B before but I still had some problems with turning around the cones at the later part but after a few rounds, I was ok with it and well I managed to pass my practical 1 with the first lesson. Practical 2 on Thursday and my RTT on 151107.
I had a real busy day today. After my practical lesson, I went for a theory trial test at 1520 and choose the wrong option of taking the stupid practice so I had to book one again at 1755. After exciting the stupid practice, I rush down to J8 to change my dad’s polo tee as he finds it too small. After which I rushed back to the centre again to take the trial test and I pass it in like15 minutes and went on to book my RTT. After completing it all, I went home to bathe and wash my clothes and later went to meet Hafiz for dinner and brought him to my house to see what colour to paint my house this Saturday.
So I decided to paint my room orchid white, my hall and dad’s room lily white and sis room, purple.

Had a meeting with Jacob and Xinying today about the retreat program and we decided to only go for the morning program and for the rest of the days, we will have our own activities. The program part is more or less settle after being approved by the committee, we have to set a timeline for the other task to be completed, like the theme song, theme special and etc.
After the meeting, I went to meet mum for shopping. We shopped around Bishan and I finally got myself a pair of Levi’s jeans that I have been hoping to get for a long time. It was on sale and cost only $72. We got 3 polo tees for mum, dad and I too. After which we had dinner at Cartel. Mum enjoy the food there and well hope we get to eat there again sometime.
Meeting at Grapevine on Friday with my retreat planning group. Well it’s a nice place to relax and chill and the prices are reasonable too. Although it was only an hour or so of discussion but much was accomplished and we managed to more or less settle the whole program so we are ready to present to Jacon and Xinying tomorrow.
Stayed at home the whole day today. First of all I managed to solve a jumbled up Rubik cube, was so happy since I have been at it for almost half a day. Once you got the formula right it is relatively easy to do it just need to practice it for the speed. Went jogging just now and I pushed myself too much and was feeling dizzy just now when I got home. Luckily I managed to recover from it after puking. Waiting for my dinner now to replenish my energy.
Stayed at home the whole day today to pack my room. At the end of the packing, I had like 3 huge bags of trash. Cannot believe that I have been keeping so much junk in my room. I threw away all the old issues of magazines and also bags and clothing that I do not want anymore. The whole day is spend mainly of packing and slacking here and there.
Driving at 11 tomorrow, bike lesson on Monday and a job interview on Tuesday. I need to exercise soon too.
From today onwards, I am officially starting to clear all my leaves and off till I collect my pink IC on 021107. Woohoo, so it is 3 weeks of slacking at home till I ORD. The past week was not bad with duty on Tuesday being super tired and I booked this super attitude 3rd Sergent from boat. Wednesday, was IMT and almost everyone there was having ORD mood and it was generally very slack there. Range was on Thursday and Friday and I fail to get marksman again. Haiz. But nevertheless, I had fun there interacting with all the ORD personnel and enjoying my favorite sport.
Saturday was my last duty and it was quite slack since it was a public holiday and not many people were in camp. After handing over duty, I went to play monopoly with Ooi and Kelvin and afterwards, we had supper together, however the most fun part was scaring Teng who was so engrossed in his game and we all had a good laugh seeing his shocked look and reaction.

Good news, 4 new Rps today and I am honored that I am equivalent to 4 guys. Finally something is done to solve this manpower issue. The morning was spent introducing the place, job scope and some stuff to them and in the afternoon, I scheduled them to be attached to the main gate and pass office to learn on the job. So far the new guys seem to be quite obedient and should be easy to work with but time is still needed to observe them.
COC tomorrow and everyone is really busy with anything and everything. I am place in charge of handling the guest at the gate and informing all the big shots about it. It’s the last big thing for me before I leave.
Saturday’s duty was certainly a busy one. First of all as usual were the contractors who kept coming in and out due to some work being done and also we had to turn away some who had not submitted the nominal roll for work to be carried out on weekends. How I wish that I could just turn all of them away. Its so frustrating to keep opening and closing the damn heavy gates for people. Its ok to open for high ranking officials cause too bad the army is a rank based organization but what really disgusts and irritates me is to open for people of a lower status. When will people ever understand this crap logic and do something about it. Secondly there was some commotion when the DOS caught some people fishing. Luckily I found the nominal roll in the drawer and the previous day IC did not even told me about it. I was thus able to answer to the DOS. There was a blackout in one area and as they could not get the repairs done on time, the whole area was in darkness and we had to constantly send a patrol team there. Luckily such incidents are rare or duties would be very siong.
In the morning, the retreat group had a session with the SF committee members to present our proposal and at first it was quite stressful having to present to a large group of leaders but after a while, it was more like a discussions with the comm members helping us to shift our focus right and also giving some inputs and advice on what we can look out for. Well I am starting to get excited about this thing and well we can expect something really different. The members will meet again next week to iron out some details.
After meeting, was lunch with Jon and Justin and after which was some catching up with Jacob followed by BS on the parable of the sower and it was really a good learning lesson for the group as we learn about the importance of hearing of God’s word and how we should share it.
Next week is my last week of work till I start clearing my leave.
Its been over a week since I last updated. Been feeling better since the week where I have been sick and its really hard to get through the week with all the duties and the shitty weather. At times really felt like my body was giving way. This week have been real tiring too with duties every other day and due to lack of manpower, have to continue standing under the hot weather with little rest. Therefore I slept real early this week. Luckily for me, this life is coming to an end soon with next week being my last in camp after which is time to clear all my leave and off till I ORD and collect my IC on the 2nd November.
Going for range next week. Wednesday’s my IMT, Thursday and Friday is the actual range day. Hope this can be a chance to earn some money.
Went for driving today, my engine did not stall at all today. Woohoo. Drove around leisurely and improved on my 3 point turns and all the other turnings and cornering.
