Are Cars Expensive in Singapore? This is the notion that we have to either support or refute on Saturday for our training on quantitative analysis. The general consensus is that cars in Singapore are really expensive and after which we proceed to have various measures to prove our point. The greatest take away from the session is to really show how you analyze and come to the conclusion and how not to have any loopholes in the calculations and able to explain why you choose certain figures and how you arrive at the conclusion. This week was great in my opinion that we did pretty well and that I managed to pretty much set the notion for our group. Got to work on that area and make it my strength.

Coaching session was after that and well it really set me thinking about what kind of family I would really want to see in the future and how I can work towards it and what kind of actions I can take to work towards the state that I want. Project is well on track and this 2 weeks are crucial in the sense that it will be times where shit happens and we have to be careful not to give up and continue to press on so that we can have a great celebration at the end of our MCW.

I am the events manager for the coming celebration and I also happen to be the youngest person in the whole TCC so I am quite stunned that people actually volunteered me but since they trust in me, I shall do a good job and not disappoint everyone.

Finally went to watch Angels and Demons after the many odds faced. It was illness and my MC for tooth extraction and we are still hit by illness when there it was not a peaceful movie due to someone constantly coughing non stop which was quite disturbing.

The movie was good in my opinion well cannot compare to the actual reading of the book but I think the gist is there and I enjoyed it but a pity that the Vatican Police guy had to die and so brutally.

After the movie, had dinner at Waraku. Food is good and I enjoyed just relaxing and chatting.

Went to Chelsea's Baptism today and so I was alone in the service and well congrats to her for taking this step of faith and pray that God would really shape her and use her for his kingdom. Pity though that we forget to take photos of this important event.

I should also start praying for my baptism.

A little sleep, a little slumber,
a little folding of the hands to rest -
and poverty will come on you like a bandit
and scarcity like an armed man
Proverbs 24:33-34

I was going through the retreat file and finding out what I miss from the messages when I stumbled upon this verse from Proverbs. It speaks of examining our own vineyard which is the very first step that we all have to do before we can even see how well can our vineyard spread. To me this speaks of a reminder not to slack off. Many times when we are busy and engulf by the amount of work that we have, we tend to slack off our spiritual development thinking that we can go back to it another day or we are already quite there. But take heed, a little sleep, a little slumber and poverty will come on like a bandit and it comes without us being aware and prepared to defend against. In the end, we will most probably fall to spiritual defeat. Fear not God will always be there for you like how thankful and grateful I am that God never gives up on me but has drawn me back closer to him and when I look back on my life, I realized how foolish I’ve been and I am glad that I woke up before the I am really destroyed. I pray for strength and faith and that after cultivating my own vineyard I can help cultivate others.

Work today was as usual. Boring. I finished my screenshots and learn a bit of Unix System and did some testing.

First day of work at OCBC today. It was rather boring and I spent the whole day playing with the trading system and looking at stock prices. People in the department is really busy and I think more work should be on the way.

It has been a long time since I have last updated and there is so much that I want to put into my blog but I hope I can have the patience to continue typing it and not give it up half way.

I am officially starting work with OCBC as a Technology Intern tomorrow and as of now it is a 6 week internship which pays not bad considering that it is a local bank. I am excited to start work and see how it is like to be doing Business IT in the Bank.

Another thing to be happy about is my results which I have just got back on Friday and well I am quite satisfied with it. I got 4.3 for this semester and managed to overall pull my CGPA up to 4.0. I am quite worried initially and now I am 2nd upper, its time to continue the hard work and maintain my GPA and also pull it up to 4.5. Impossible is nothing and I am the only one that is stopping myself from achieving it. JIA YOU.

Case training this Saturday was quite bad in my opinion. Although most of us had almost the same points and managed to grab the issues, but I feel that my group did not do well in presenting our ideas. Our points are everywhere and there is no structure which makes our case not convincing. We really need to work hard on it or rather I need to work on it too to even be considered to be in the coming competition team to Thailand. Next week is quantitative analysis and well its something that I am not very good in but nevertheless I will work hard and like what Daryl say force yourself to be good at it.

Just came back from church retreat today and although I did slept but I did not really sleep well and was quite tired so I took a nap while Liang Ying, his Mum, Mille and Chai, Dad and Mummy were outside playing Mahjong with Dad and mille watching. We are celebrating Dad's birthday today with mahjong and food from Sakae and Canadian Pizza.

I had the honor of working with Adrian for the games of the retreat and we are all very glad that it worked out well and everyone really had fun playing the games and there was really much fun, laughter and the last game was really cool where everyone was put to the task of building the tallest YA tower and it was great to see the whole YA working together to build a real decent structure which is very tall and almost reached the ceiling and it can also support a handphone which is really remarkable.

As for me, I am really glad to be there for my first YA retreat. I went to the retreat with a happy heart of just having received my results and also when my life is starting to be realign back to God and the messages in the retreat is really a repetition of things we all along knew but in the mist of our busy life have let them slip through our mind and it was a great wake up call and I can especially connect to it after my whole down and ups in my spiritual life. Really Thank God for the speaker and also for me to be able to attend the retreat right after my TCC. During sharing, I also had a group who are all very open and willing to share and it was great learning from each other and also Elder Stephen where he was a wealth of experience to share with us. My takeaway from the retreat is really the importance of discipleship and disciple making. But for me right now, I have to get myself right, have the heart of a disciple of Christ before I can make disciples.

Mouth's still a little numb and I hope I can still enjoy the good food later.

I am still unable to go for my run. Had a bad tooth which needed an extraction and after which a minor surgery cause of a stupid small root that was stuck inside. I am now on a 5 days MC with my internship with OCBC hanging in the air and I am not sure if I am still going to work there. It has been real tough to find a job lately and I am still jobless and June is coming. Going to be broke soon.

Retreat on Saturday and I doubt I can recover on time to be the emcee but I think I should still be able to attend it thought. Pray for the best.

Got Fever, Flu, Sore Throat and Aching Body which render me useless for the whole of yesterday. Wanted to read and try not to fall asleep but I was too weak and my body was too painful and I ended up falling asleep for the whole of yesterday. I cannot believe it myself but I slept so much that my back hurts and my head hurts. I really hate this feeling. Was shivering one moment and perspiring the next and thus I have to keep wearing my jacket and taking it off. I was so blur about what is going on that I could not think straight. I kept asking myself what am I lying on the bed for and keep thinking about something that I could not recall now. Went to see a doctor today and he says its common flu and have to let the body fight it off itself. Praying for recovery soon so that I can start running.

I am very tired, from all the going out and the constant rush of one place to another. Slept a great deal in the afternoon today cause of a bad headache that I developed on my way back from Church. For the rest of the week, I shall stay at home and rest and also to continue reading my books.

Retreat meeting on Thursday and we have decided to modify the program a bit. We kept the reality show part with Don't Forget the Lyrics - Worship Version and also added some station games and team building games in the whole program. Gearing up for a fun filled first YA Retreat. Pity that I could only attend from Saturday as I have case training in the morning.

Sentosa on Friday with Huat, Jeremy, Han Ming, KC, Guan Him, Dao Hao, Chanel, Wan Xian, Charabel and Xiao Yuan. I was apprehended about going since I would not sure if I would be out of place there but it turns out to be a fun filled and relaxing day out with the sun the sand and the sea. Played frisbee, build a sandcastle and also throwing people into the sea like Hui Min who joined us later.

First meeting of the competition squad on Saturday and we set down meetings for the rest of the Saturdays and also on the format of training, it is going to be tough but I will fight hard to go overseas for competition. Work Hard Norman. After training, I went home to work on my TCC and later headed to Cell. It has been a long time since we had cell and it was nice meeting everyone again and we had a great discussion on Col 3. At 7, I left for Sean's place for his Birthday celebration. Almost the whole OG was there and it was nice seeing everyone again after the exams and catching up with everyone. I almost miss the last train home.

After I woke up, I decided to slack off a bit and watch 2 episodes of Fringe and after that went for dinner with Dad. Shall continue with my TCC after I bathe and read a bit before turning in. I will wake up at 7 for my run tomorrow.

Aware sex guide suspended
By Theresa Tan & Amelia Tan

ALL sexuality education programmes run by external groups in schools - including the controversial one by the Association of Women for Action and Research (Aware) - have been suspended by the Ministry of Education (MOE).

In addition, the ministry will implement a new, tougher vetting process for the selection of such external programmes by schools.

The move comes about a week after some parents told MOE that they were concerned about the content found in an instructor guide for Aware's programme, which was posted online.

The Aware programme for schools was one of the touchstones of a spat within the organisation, which ended last Saturday with the ousting of a month-old leadership team who had railed against what they called 'pro-homosexuality' content in it. MOE conducted an investigation after some parents expressed concern.

On Wednesday, the press secretary to Education Minister Ng Eng Hen, Ms Jennifer Chan, said in a letter to The Straits Times that the basic instructor guide for Aware's programme did not conform to MOE's guidelines on sexuality education.

'In particular, some suggested responses in the instructor guide are explicit and inappropriate, and convey messages which could promote homosexuality or suggest approval of premarital sex,' she said, without elaborating on the inappropriate responses.

A copy of the guide posted online contained lines such as 'anal sex can be healthy or neutral if practised with consent and with a condom', and 'homosexuality is perfectly normal. Just like heterosexuality, it is simply the way you are'.

However, Ms Chan pointed out that some parts of the guide were positive: It gave accurate information on sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and HIV, for example.

But, she stressed, the ministry and its schools 'do not promote alternative lifestyles to our students'.

She added: 'MOE's framework for sexuality education reflects mainstream views and values of Singapore society, where the social norm consists of the married heterosexual family unit.

Badminton with Phebe, Joy and Kim Heng today. Well I never expected that playing Badminton would be that siong. Well its a good workout and also how hyper Joy can and turning services into dance and singing while playing.

Went to meet Jia, Joy and Miao to pass Miao the backpack that I was going to lend to her. She has decided to go Bangkok and for anyone who wants to change money, do not go to the one at Far East level 2, that guy cheat money saying 23, 5 when he actually meant 23.05. Miao was upset that she was cheated but then again, it was too late liao.

Walked around looking for hand sanitizers for Miao to bring along for her travels but could not find any. Must be all snapped up by the Kiasu Singaporeans around. Its not exactly safe to be traveling now due to the Swine Flu and all and I pray for her to have a safe trip.

The job market is real bad now and I am still unable to get any jobs like many of my friends too. Danny mentioned that perhaps we should do special term to clear some modules and that will put the worry of finding a job away from our heads for a while. I think if I still cannot get any jobs after a while, I will go do some volunteer work and it beats bumming around without achieving anything.

Theme for message this coming month is on the family and I think that it is a good time seeing all the things that have unfolded in Singapore and I am surprised at the slope that we are slipping down. When God created man, he created Adam and Eve and not Adam and Michael. That is all I am going to say and to people who think that it is like born being left handed and right handed, yea right cause no matter which hand one uses to for example write, the results are same whereas is the result of a homo and a heterosexual same. Nonsense.

The fact that one group has to booed and prevent another from speaking shows how much content they have to take it on an intellectual debate. What is Singapore becoming?

I thought I should rest at home since I have been going out almost everyday since the end of my examinations and today was indeed a slack day for me. Swimming in the morning and it has been ages since I last swam and I think I sort of strain my left arm near the elbow part and now I feel pain in it.

For the rest of the day it is just videos and reading. I started on this very interesting show called Fringe which is really great and I would recommend it to everyone especially those interested in science and x files. It is a show about Fringe science or rather science that is simply out of this world but theoretically quite sound.

Finished Case for Christ and well I am more convinced that there are really hard evidence supporting the existence of Christ and also his resurrection and it is a real good read with analysis like fighting a case for Christ in the court of law.

These days I have been very updated with the news after so long and I have the time to read almost all the articles except those that bore me. Lolz.

Back to videos.

I am very happy today knowing that I got into the competition squad. Well really have to Thank God for it. I was quite worried for it seeing that there are much stronger competitors around and well since I am given this chance and opportunity, I am going to give it my best shot at it and do well in it.

Met up with the theme special team today and well managed to have 2 plans up for approval and hopefully things will turn out well.

Went to Marina Barrage with some YAers today and well get to know more people and I have to say that Marina Barrage is really a nice place to hang out and chill and to just spend some time there with friends. Also the exhibitions are informative and fun too. It should be a must go for all.

I am really enjoying life these few days after exams. I have been going out, playing and basically having a great time. Well at the same time, I have been trying to find a job, but due to the current economic conditions, I have been unable to find any temp jobs and well I need to find one soon or I will be broke soon.

Ice skating on Wednesday with Random Group and its growing bigger and getting more random each day. Well it was the objective of the group to be super duper random and we just go out together and have fun and populate facebook with all our pictures. Ice Skating was fun and it is the second time I tried, first time being in JC to celebrate my birthday. Huat was forever falling and finally its XH’s turn to bully her cause she was the only zai one among us. Hard as we tried, we could not catch her and well let her bully for once. Lolz.

After skating, I went to meet Hong Wee for job training with this company called Play n Learn which is basically a company selling science toys in primary schools and well the products are interesting and the only bad is that it is not regular so I need to find a more regular job to earn more money for my Vietnam trip. After that we went to AMK to have our crab dinner and also to appease my little junior who is very pissed cause we are all late and she almost wanted to go home and HW had to appease her by letting her throw her shoes at him (kidding). The dinner was good and the crab was huge man. We had chilli crab, bee hoon crab, broccoli with scallop and fried tofu. For our carbo, we had fried mantou and they are simply delicious when dipped into the chili crab gravy. After dinner, we walked for what seem like ages to get to AMK hub. At there, we headed to the arcade and played Daytona, Basketball and World Combat.

Went to return keys, submit bursary documents and also had competition squad audition today. Well the concept of the competition squad is such that we can have a more organized training and hopefully get into finals more often in competitions and better still win more of them. Well it is not a bad idea, but just could not help feeling that when the team is form, the rest of the people will be left out and shut out from future opportunities of competition. Although challenger teams are allowed during trainings but how useful or how fair is it to break into the competition squads. Well it remains to be seen and right now I am praying hard that I would get to be in the squad.

Meeting tomorrow for retreat……..
