♥ 11:31 PM
Singapore turns 41 today. Happy birthday to Singapore. Its been a long way for us since independence to grow from a poor country to a nation which is prosperous with great economic development and political stability. To this I have to say that it is not possible without one man the one who gave his life to Singapore and he is none other than Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew. MM Lee is one whom I have respected all along. Without him, I guess I won’t be staying in such a globalize city with proper education and access to all the gadgets the world has to offer. Instead I guess Singapore would be just another small village with people in poverty and children running around without access to proper education. The day started at 8 when my alarm clock woke me up. I had to get up early cause the person from acer is supposed to arrive at between 8 to 10 to upgrade my pc. I spent $258 on 2 upgrades mainly an extra 256 ram and a dvd drive. It’s a good investment as this new computer could last me for some time. For the rest of the day, life goes on as usual and I await the arrival of the NDP on television. I watched every NDP on tv as I still do not have the chance to view it live at the stadium yet. I missed the preview screening during primary 5 too due to my mum yet again. For the whole parade, I am only interested in the first half where all the marching and display of the planes took place. The most awesome part is still the fireworks which never fail to captivate the audiences year after year. Although lots of money is spent at the parade, but its money worth spending as many people from around the world will be watching our parade. From the parade, it tells of the state of our citizens, the cooperation between the government and businesses, our military discipline and might. Any mistakes could embarrass us or show our incapability to the world. Well hope that one day I will be able to watch the parade live.
