Work is getting better now since we have more RPs and right now we are split into 2 groups and one will cover the first half of the day while the other will cover the 2nd half. Thus we have lesser hours of duty each day and more rest time which is good because we can have activities like games and life runs. In church today, I was mentioned by Uncle Jit Meng that I always request to do duty on Saturday so that I could come to church on Sunday. I mean I never expect it to be mentioned as I thought it was something very small and I just mentioned it to him casually in the toilet. For me, since I accepted Christ and joined the church, I have begun to experience what life really is. To me the church is my life and I am proud and happy to go for all the service and to offer my service to the church. If I ever have to miss a service or going to church, I would feel very lost and uneasy. Going to church was something that I looked forward to each week and thank god now my commanders allow me to change my duties to go church.
After service, we had family meeting and we met for some bible learning and also to settle some admin stuff. I was tasked with the role to organize the year end retreat for the SF and I think I can do a better job since I would have ORD by then and have much more time compared to when I am doing the Christmas Blog. After lunch, I went back to church and together with Danny settled the lesson for the BGR. Later I had a discussion on BGR led by Siew Hua and Nancy. We hang around in church later, chatting and catching up and also we plan for a shopping trip next Saturday.
My 20th birthday is round the corner and I have no idea what to do on that day. It’s been so long since I had a celebration with my family and I have no hopes of having it again. But at least I get cash presents from my parents. For me what I really want on my birthday is for people to remember it. It sounds simple and I am happy just to hear a happy birthday from my friends to show that they remembered. I really want to one day have a huge celebration where all my friends gathered and we can have lots of food, drinks and fun together. I really want to thank Eleanor, my classmate for suggesting to celebrate it for me on the 28th with a birthday lunch.
