The start of this week has not been very well for me. First of all, when I was on duty on Monday, I left the key on SO’s table without knowing it and by God’s grace I was alright and when we were doing the changing of magazine drill, I left my magazine on the grass and forgot about it too till RSM took it for me. Wonder what is wrong with me these days, I have been real absent minded and doing a lot of stupid mistakes. I really need to be careful or I will get into deep shit.
In the morning, we had handcuff practice for passive and defiant intruders and it was fun though my wrist now had several marks due to the handcuff. Ajay tried to be funny when the rest tried to cuff him and come up with all sorts of monkey patterns. Syahrul tried many times but fail. When I volunteered to try, he was subdued by me. Lolz. I gave him a wrist lock and make him shout out in pain. One to
Duty for August is out and I have 10 duties this month due to my extras. Bad news initially as I have duty on 11 August which is the day of !Concert, but thank God Master is willing to change it to another day in September.

Today was a real bad day for me, first of all I screwed up again and as a punishment, all my day offs are cancelled and some others too from my NDP involvement. There goes my driving lessons that I have plan to take using my day offs. First of all, in the morning, I did not get any sleep from doing duty last night as MSG Goh had to conduct a lesson for us about the new amendment to the SAF act and also about some new stuff regarding ROE. Later while I was on duty, there is this joker who park his car in front of the pass office where a sign stating NO PARKING/STOPPING was displayed. When he was stepping out of the car, I shouted to him as he was a distance away to park his car at the car park then I proceeded to direct his attention to the sign. I don’t think I have been impolite to him but anyway screw him. Then in the evening I screw up again, which makes this day real rotten.
Sometimes life really sucks to the core man. Like just in Thursday, I just impress the people from 2PDF who came down for an inspection and today I can make such a stupid mistake and its my 2nd major one too. So as a result, my punishment now so far is 5 extra weekend duties and all my day offs cancelled.
I hope I can really learn from all my mistakes and not commit such stupid errors again and may the punishment serve as a reminder. Was talking to samsee and I realized that I am too arrogant and complacent when it comes to work and I think that I know a lot. I have to learn to realize that without God I am nothing and all that I am is cause he puts me there and he can remove me anytime. Glory and praise to our lord God and may I learn to be humble and trusting God in everything I do. Amen
Finally we had a new RP but wonder if its that good a news after all. First of all he is a trained RP from another unit and is posted out because of his lack of security clearance and according to him he used to be in charge of 45 people and that makes him hard to forget that he is new now and has to follow and learn from the senior RPs now. One more thing he seems to be slow in learning too. I nearly vomited blood when trying to teach him about vehicle logging. But then again he is doing his work quite well and I can see that he is not the slacking type, so I guess one man is better than none.
Today is certainly a tiring day for all of us. There is going to be inspection tomorrow so we are in a mad rush to clean our area and get rid of all the dengue breeding grounds. So after my detail, Hafiz, Shah and I went to dig and clear drains, unclogging them and clearing them off the leaves and mud. This thing is really getting on our nerves as almost everyday we have to do so much sai kang that don’t seem to end at all. But too bad suck thumb since we are in CCO and someone have to do it and it turns out to be us. 4 more months to go and I shall be set free.

Friday was racial harmony day and the camp celebrated it with a run and lucky for us, we only need to run 5km compared to the other companies which had to run like 9km and there is still a punishment if you do not make it back within a certain time. Had my second driving lesson at 1500 and well this was not too bad. I learn to move off quite well now and did a bit of turning. I also had a problem keeping my vehicle straight in its lane. I guess I need to learn more turning.
Friday was also Budiman’s last duty and Shah, Jason Goh, Budiman and I had some supper as a celebration. We packed food from Jalan Kayu and 7 eleven and the party was started. At around 1,I went to SMC with Ooi to sleep.
NDP today and today was NE 2 for all the primary 5 school kids and they were certainly a noisy bunch. NE 2 was ok with almost all the performance without screw up and I managed to see all the fire works and pretty much the whole show.
The verdict is out and by God’s grace it was only 5 weekend extras. I was like so relieved and it was as if a great rock that was suffocating me was being lifted from me. Although it was only around 10 min of waiting but it felt so long to me and it was the longest 10 minutes of my life as I nearly got charged for that absent mindedness. Thankfully all is fine now and I thank God for the compassion towards me and for his faithfulness towards me. From now on, I will not be that forgetful anymore. Today was a bad day through and through. First thing in the morning, we were informed of Derek’s excuse of night duty and gate duty and we are like WT*. So now we have to do his duty since he could not do which means more duty per month and since he is there, he is taking up space for our numbers which means useless person there. So for now the morale of the whole platoon is damm low now with the shortage of manpower and such people around. But what to do we still have to do our duties and live with the ass so just suck thumb lor.
While sending arms today, I caught the 2 provost duty drivers with camera phones blatantly placed on the table. Their attitude was quite bad too when I informed them that I was confiscating their phone. After which I brought them to see SO. What shocked me was their audacity of asking my colleague where I stayed and that was indeed a threat. This is so stupid cause if they do anything to me or rather if anything happens to me, they will be the prime suspect and will get double punishment, one from the civilian world and one from the military. Sometimes all one have to do is to follow the rules and not create problems, is it that difficult?

Went to watch transformers at GV Bishan today with Jon and I love the show. The storyline is quite ok and not too fantastic but the effects of the whole movie was simply great. It was great to see all the transformation and all the fights in the show.
After our movie, Jon and I went to church to attend a play by the LCC which is the Chinese side of our church. The play is mainly about a mum’s love for her child and how ungrateful the children are towards their mum and they not only did not appreciate her but even take her for granted. After the show there was a talk by someone about love like what it really is and how difficult is it for us to show it and even to understand it. But love is God and the only one true person who loves us really is our GOD himself and how he is willing to sacrifice himself to save us. Truly without God’s love, we do not really know what love is.
Julyn had a sharing and a song item at the end and it really touched my heart by how she came to realize that God is always with her at times and how she used to think she can manage alone but in fact she really needs God after how her dad treats her now and now that her dad is in such a condition and she realizes that she really loves her dad no matter what he has done in the past. I think this really set me thinking that am I really that hard hearted that I cannot bring myself to forgive and do I really have to wait for such things to happen before I can really realize. God help me with this struggle. I pray hard for your help.

After service today we had BS and the topic today was on the reformed doctrine of limited atonement. Well initially I had some questions about the topic and after our discussion, I think we managed to clear up some misunderstands and strengthen our understanding of it. One take away lesson I have is that we do not know who are God’s elect people and it is our job to share the gospel to as many people as possible and we who knows the very person that we share to at that moment may be the chosen one and due to our sharing of the gospel and god’s workings in his heart he may be saved by the blood of Christ which he shed for his chosen people.
After BS, I had a lunch meeting with my year end retreat planning committee, this time welcoming our new members, SamSee and Zhi Yun. Basically we agreed on the theme and discuss a few details of the plan. After discussion with Jacob, I have lots more to discuss with the rest before we can come up with our first proposal to be submitted for vetting by the SF comm.
At 2, we had a preview of all the songs in the cd and we gave comments about the songs. The cd was great and very professionally done. After that we had phototaking before I left.
