Woke up at 0700 today for my wisdom tooth operation at Jurong Medical Centre, the place was very quiet with almost no one there even when I left at around 1300. First of all, my mum had to sign a form consenting to the surgery as I was under 21 and I was going under GA. When I went in, I changed, answered a few questions about my medical health and any allergies and after a while, I went in for the operation. Both my dental surgeon and the anesthetist were females. First I had a drip and a few monitors attached to my body then after which I was told that my left hand would feel numb from the drug and before I knew it, I was asleep. It felt like only a moment had pass when I woke up and feel some discomfort in my mouth and the whole extraction is over. I woke up at around 1045 but can only leave at 12 plus when I am not too drowsy to walk. So when I woke up, I went back to sleep until I was woke up by the nurse to have a drink and change the guaze. After I was ok to walk and collected my drugs from the pharmacist, I could go back home.
For the first 3 days, I need to be on a fluid diet and all food temperature must not exceed room temperature. After every meal, I need to rinse my mouth with the gargle solution too. Now I am having a sore throat too due to a tube that they insert to aid in my breathing.
One week of milo, vitasoy and congee.
