Got back from Bintan on Thursday and now I am sick, just my luck. Body aching like crazy with fever and diarrhoea. What a bad time to fall sick now with the retreat coming and we have yet to settle some stuff and tomorrow meeting will have to be cancelled.
Bintan was not too bad; a nice chill out and relaxing place with good weather and it was very quiet the time we were there. On the first day, after checking in, we slack around the villa and before dinner, Aileen, Gracia and I went to the beach to walk around and also to explore around. At around 6, we went to take a shuttle bus to Pasar Oleh Oleh for dinner. We ate at a hawker centre there and the food there taste great and the price is quite cheap too. After dinner, we shop at the provision shop there and I got some chewing gum. We continue shopping around Pasar Oleh Oleh where Jon got a temporary tattoo on his arm. At around
The next day, we woke up at around 10 and the rest were already done with breakfast and were out at the beach. I prepared some breakfast and after our meal, Jo, Jon and I went to take a walk around to explore the activities around. We went for the air rifle shooting, shooting cans and after walking, we went back to the villa. Jon and I decided to go for a swim at the hotel pool along with Zhi Zhen, Aileen, Gracia, Candice and Jane. After an hour or so, we went back to have lunch. We had dinner at a Kelong where they serve great seafood and the price is around 8 per head. We had chilli crab, black pepper crab, fried sotong, fish, vegetables, tofu and buttered prawns. Then its back to the chalet for more DVDS.
Next morning its time to check out and the people were late to check the villa and we had to sort of rush cause we were afraid to miss the bus to the ferry terminal. Driving in the morning today and I practiced my parallel parking and it was quite good. I always have the same problem with holding the steering wheel too tightly and thus not able to turn properly. Nearly got into accident today too when I change lane without looking. But by God’s grace, nothing happened.
After my lesson, I made my way down to orchard to celebrate David’s birthday. The usual crowd turned up, mainly Eleanor, Shi Hui, Shunyi and Wan Lin. We had lunch at Ajisan Raimen and well the food there isn’t that fantastic. After our meal, we went to Cineleisure to play arcade.
After that Eleanor went off to study while the rest of us went to Mos Burger to chat and wait for Shi Hui’s friends. After sitting for a while, I went off cause I was very tired and wanted to go back to rest.
Finally after four days of working, I finally sign one today. I was quite hopeful for this one cause she is pleasant looking and quite willing to work. So I am very happy today. But then again among the temps, I am still the lowest in the number of temps placed so I really need to work hard to catch up. First of all, I need to clear up and organize my profiles. Next week would be a better week, work hard.
3rd day at my job today, still zero and I am starting to feel a little worried. Heard about a monthly quota. What if I don’t managed to meet it. Sianz.
Went for lunch with the other team guys and some of the lady mentors today, went to this roasted meat store. Had roast chicken rice, not too bad.
RTT test just now. I was once again the first to complete and passed the test.

Started work at Recruit Express today as a temporary recruitment consultant. Well the environment is good and the people there are very friendly and I pretty much enjoyed my first day there. Its way better that normal admin jobs where you just face the computer the whole day. There is interaction with people and also the usual admin data entry work and also the occasional ad hoc work. Glenn is working there too and I am sure surprised to see him there. Must work hard tomorrow to try to place some jobs.
Went online in the morning today to check out chalet rates for my 21st birthday next year, after going through several websites, I think the best ones are at The Chervons which is not only cheap but the chalet is big too with a hall, double storey and all. But too bad its all fully booked and the rest with halls are either too far away or too expensive. So we decided on the one at downtown east although there is no hall just a deluxe room with a small area outside for BBQ.
At 1300, I went to meet Liang Ying and Sam at Yishun Safra for swimming. When I got off the 859, I saw Sam waiting at the 812 and we waited for Liang Ying before walking to SAFRA. Liang Ying forgot to bring his goggles, so we took turns using it swimming 2 laps before switching over. After 20 laps, we went to wash up. We had laksa and after which desert and well my stomach felt funny but the feeling was quite siok. The laksa was good man and cost like only $2.20. After that, I went home to take a nap and woke up at around 1845, had a bathe and then went to buy dinner for my dad and sis.
Good news, Sam is going to bintan with us. It so happens that he was free during that week and could afford to take some leave but initially we could not accommodate him since our booking numbers are filled up. But then luckily, Keith could not make it so Sam could replace him but then again there are problems too like the name on the ticket and whether there is a name list for the chalet that we booked at Bintan.
The retreat planning is really driving me nuts man. It suddenly feels so rushed and we like got 3 weeks left before it comes at us. God, I pray for your help and guidance now as we continue with our planning. Hope that all will turn out well.
Went for another circuit lesson today and well it was much better but I still need to work on my vertical parking and for the rest its quite ok.
After driving, I went to North Point to have lunch with Shu Wen and Liang Ying and after lunch we set out for orchard road for our shopping. I am looking for a sling bag to go with my formal wear for Tuesday.

We had dinner at coffee club and I had a miso soft shell crab pasta. It was great but the miso taste is a little too strong but I loved the crispy crab. After chatting for a while, we went back.
Went shopping with mum today after her dental appointment. First of all we went to royal sporting house to get the puma shoes that I have been eyeing and well luckily they had my size at this outlet. After which, we went to metro to get some business wear for my work which starts on Tuesday. Oh yea I got a job at recruit express as recruit consultant so if anyone is looking for a job or know people who are looking for a job, just look for me. Next we went to Jean Yip where I waited for around 1.5 hour for mum to colour her hair and get a cut. We went for dinner next at the food court.
After dinner we shop went metro to get a wallet for Dad and Mum got one too.
At around 8, we went back.
Gosh, the few days have been so busy that I have not updated my blog for a long time even missing several important things that I want to record down. There are so many things in my head now, so bogged down by so many stuff, so many things that I want to say.
On 021107, Friday, it was the day that I got back my long lost and missed PINK ic, the ticket to freedom and a new life ahead. Then again on that very day 2 very disappointing things happen at the same time which really spoils my day. First of all I got news that the SF comm very not keen on us joining the bible trail for the retreat so we will have to redo everything with only a month left. Secondly, I am supposed to start work yesterday at AIG but due to some cock up somewhere, my name is not there and now I have to look for another job again and with all my driving lessons, I am really stressed by my finances. I am dipping into my reserves now and I need to find some work soon to earn money.
On Friday morning, I went to have breakfast with MSG before collecting my IC and thereafter lunch with RSM. I spend almost half my day there, talking to friends and before I left, I got a haircut at aunty Nancy’s shop, my last. Friday night was spend with Budi at Clark Quay drinking and chatting till about 1am which I tend hop on the NR 2 back home. We went China One for a drink and enjoy the live band music and we had some food at Café iguana which was cheap and good.
Sentosa on Saturday was great. I got the islander card since I foresee many trips there with the medics to play volleyball. It was a great Saturday, playing volleyball, relaxing and dipping in the sea water. The weather was quite hot and my soles were burning from the hot sand. Now I am red like crab due to the sun.
On Sunday, I showed my BS mates my pink IC since I am the first among them to ORD and well the usual reaction, let’s go have lunch. Lolz. Meeting with Moses and the team was fruitful; we managed to settle on at least the messages and some of the program. After that we had BS on divorce and we not only learn about divorce but also on the covenant of marriage and what cases can divorce be allowed.
Went down to recruit express today to look for a new job since the AIG one did not work out. I got offered a job as a recruitment consultant with the company and the pay is 6 per hour with commission and I got till tomorrow to accept the job and after which I can start work next Monday. Well the pay is lesser but I think it would be a good learning experience since I have not much work experience too.
So stress by so many things, retreat, money and job.
Driving lesson was pushed early by half an hour today cause Mr Chong said he had to go service his car. After driving to the workshop, he brought me to have porridge and ordered lots of food but too bad I don’t take the fish, roast meat and duck then he ordered so I ended up eating just the cabbage, toufu and the fishcake. After our meal, we went to pick up the car and I continued with my lesson, practicing more of my turns and it was not bad and I ended at 11.
Tomorrow is finally the day after waiting for 1 year and 10 months, the day to collect back my pink IC. The feeling now is really good and hard to explain, freedom, civilian here I come.
