It has been a long time since I updated and I have many things to say. I finally got my reservist unit after waiting for a long time and to my dismay it was not PPB but rather I got posted to 822 SIR which means I am now going to chiong sua for my reservist as an infantry man. Guess what, I even got my first ICT date liao, which is on 15th Sept. This is the first time that I felt that the SAF is so efficient. I am also reminded that I have to take my IPPT test.
I have another tuition student at woodlands and I start my lessons with him on Monday. This is only 15 per hour for a primary 4 kid but since it’s the start, and there is hope of long term so maybe in the future I might be able to increase the fees. The best part is also the flexibility of the schedule which makes it even more attractive when I start school in august and I can continue to teach to make some pocket money too.
Today was really an exciting and emotions filled day for me. In the morning, I told Alicia that if that guy is not suitable, then there is no need to find anymore. Last night I was thinking about it a lot and prayed hard about it and a though suddenly came into my mind saying that if this guy is not suitable, then I will stay on all the way. So it happens that the guy did not want to be a RC but they kept it from me and even told me that today is my last day and tried I might to appear normal, I could not help but feeling sad and disappointed as I had completely no preparation to this coming and my last day being today. Alicia then handed me a contract saying that she had a parking case for me to handle while she had lunch and I asked if I was getting the STB. She said yes and when I look at the contract, I saw my own name there and it states duration to infinity and I knew what was going on. They were having me on by telling me that the guy wanted to be RC in the first place. So they were not that bad after all and indeed it was hard to leave RE and well I am not leaving till its time to go to school.
Now that I have decided to do this, its time to not only fill temp but also try to do some perm position too. I must at least learn something from spending around 8 mths on the job. I stayed till around 7 plus today to do some housekeeping and to prepare for a new day, a new week and a new start ahead.
